 HISTORIC PEARL HARBOR, Thursday, April 25th

This narrated tour of Pearl Harbor, and other historic Honolulu landmarks will let you explore first hand what happened on Dec. 7, 1941 and how it greatly impacted the outcome of World War II.  Visit the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center and wander through the monuments and museums, see exhibit galleries and displays; and learn from Pearl Harbor survivors. Then, visit the USS Arizona Memorial, the final resting place for many of the ship’s 1,177 crewmen who lost their lives on December 7, 1941. Accessible only by boat, it is a place of contemplation, inspiration and reflection.  The tour then moves onward to the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, where many of those who fought for their country are buried, and finally past Honolulu’s most noteworthy historical landmarks, including Iolani Palace, Kawaiahao Church, the Hawaii State Capitol and Honolulu City Hall.

IOLANI PALACE, Saturday, April 27th

Take a private docent-led tour of the only royal palace in the US.  Learn about the Palace’s history from its completion in 1882,  to the overthrow of the Hawaiian monarchy in 1893. Guests hear stories about the furnishings and Royal residents as they are led through the first-floor staterooms and second-floor private quarters. Wander through American Florentine architecture that cannot be seen anywhere else in the world. The tour concludes with a self-guided tour of the basement Galleries. Includes transportation to and from the Sheraton Waikiki.
